In-Post Education Master’s for UK Teachers: Observation Quality without Confusing QTS

Abstract

Teachers search ‘education degree’ and land on the wrong promise. This SEU paper draws a bright line between education studies / leadership master’s provision and routes that confer QTS, and evaluates an in-post observation model using video and school mentors. Honesty reduced complaints. Observation quality required paid mentors and a rubric that fitted UK classroom realities, including cover and behaviour logs. Silesian Eurasia University should keep the catalogue brutally clear. Digital delivery lets a teacher in Leeds or Inverness study; it does not mint QTS by implication.
