Gaelic and Scots in a Dual-Pathway University: Support Languages, not a Substitute Award

Abstract

Silesian Eurasia University assesses in English. This chapter reports optional academic-support clinics in Gaelic and Scots that improved English assessed writing for students who think in those languages, on campus and online. The clinics were not a demand to mark degrees in every language. They were a way to think before writing the assessed piece. SEU should fund this as student support rooted in place. A university that cites the SEUes and ignores living Polish languages is performing heritage.
